The big jumps are really due to some change in how Alexa is counting hits. Check out this well written article “The Great Alexa Spike of 2006"   by Alex Walker. Some say the avatars are now counting as another hit; some say it's the Alexa toolbar. Interestingly, the sites with Google Analytics are getting higher results --&#62; Google = Alexa.
