soccer coach giving instructions

Actually in HT, you have the default 4-4-2 routine that is always excellent, no matter how many time you (don’t) use it. Even if you spend 1 or 2 seasons playing in 4-5-1 or 3-5-2, if you change the formation for a couple of games, the routine will drop at least one level. To me, that don’t make any sense and can be changed. I have two suggestions to resolve that situation:

First idea (my favourite): Hiring a coach with a default formation - when you recruit a coach (internal or external), you should be able to choose the default Excellent level formation with him. He will be a specialist in that formation and it will be always excellent, maybe even give a boost to the team when that formation is used.

Example: You recruit a new coach among your players; you select his mentality (defensive, normal, offensive), level and favourite formation (3-5-2, 4-3-3, 4-5-1, and so). As long as he’s your coach, you always have excellent in his favourite formation, no matter what.

Second idea: in the off-season, you should be able to select one of the default formations to your team. You can only select a formation already with solid level or above at that time and it will last 16 weeks in excellent.

Example: In the off-season, at the same time the team Spirit and team confidence is reset, a new option -favourite formation- under training is available. That formation will become your teams default formation until the next off-season.

Of course either way it will replace the 4-4-2 and this formation level could drop like any other.

I hope I made myself clear. Best regards.
