De-emphasize midfield
It seems to me that at the moment, the emphasis placed on the midfield strength is too great. I regularly come up against teams that I am stronger than in every area of the park with the exception of Midfield, and regularly, I lose. This is entirely unrealistic, it is the equivalent of suggesting that if you put Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard in the Watford midfield that they would finish above Spurs or Arsenal. Simply because the midfield is stronger. Why not give each of the areas of the park equal weighting, that way you can be “successful” with a side that is offensively strong, defensively strong, strong in midfield, or a mixture of these. Your thoughts?

Formation Routines: a new approach
Actually in HT, you have the default 4-4-2 routine that is always excellent, no matter how much you (don’t) use it. Even if you spend 1 or 2 seasons playing in 4-5-1 or 3-5-2, if you change the formation for a couple of games, the routine will drop at least one level. To me, that don’t make any sense and can be changed. I have two suggestions to resolve that situation: Read on…
Variable length red-card bans
I think it would be a good idea to institute variable bans for red cards. The standard 1 match ban is fine for 2 yellow cards, shirt pulling, kicking the ball away etc - but what about those really bad fouls that result in a player being injured?

More dynamic arenas

Hattrick give you some flexibility in creating your arena by letting you choice the ratio of seat types when you expand. While this may first appear to be a yet another variable in your team’s income and success, the community quickly figured out the magic seating ratio to maximize income. No matter if your team is brand new or in the top league, the ratio remains the same. I’d like to see the ideal seating ratio for a team’s arena change over time… Read on…
Winger to forward option

I have come up with this idea from seeing many real wingers playing. Many of them, like f.e. Ebi Smolarek from Poland and BVB, playing as a winger who very often goes forward to be a third striker. So the tactics changes from f.e. 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 which can disorganize the defence of the opponent and increase the chance to score. So how to implement this in Hattrick? I think it could be that way: Read on…
Turn off team spirit for national teams

Watching the last heated debate about making PIC-PIC agreements and breaking them, I came to the conclusion that if NTs do not have team spirit at all, the world will be a better place. But, then, NT games might get a tad boring.

Make goalkeepers less simple

Browsing the Hattrick Hub gave me many ideas on how to get hattrick closer to the real thing. In fact I commented on some of the recent ideas as well. I did not however find one idea concerning this topic, so I am posting one myself, on a topic that is introduced in the title. My main complaint about keepers in Hattrick is simplicity. You look only for keeper ability, perhaps age, routine and rarely form to define the price you will pay for the keeper, one that could very well be the most important player on the field. Read on…
More stats on the match report page

Apart from the current stats which are useful, being possession, cards and so on, and the often mentioned lack of injuries info, it would be nice to also see the number of chances (shots on target/off target), fouls/tackles, passes and completion etc.
