soccer coach giving instructions

Actually in HT, you have the default 4-4-2 routine that is always excellent, no matter how many time you (don’t) use it. Even if you spend 1 or 2 seasons playing in 4-5-1 or 3-5-2, if you change the formation for a couple of games, the routine will drop at least one level. To me, that don’t make any sense and can be changed. I have two suggestions to resolve that situation: Read on…

injured player on stretcher

The HT- team have done a great job implementing the training report - so that when your players ability levels change, you get a message from your coach. It would be great to get the same thing for injuries.

match lineup

In HT there are only 3 lines in which you are able to place players - offense, midfield and defense. In real life (and some other football managers as well) players can play in sub-lines as well. In one such game I preffered to play 4-1-2-1-2, which is nearly impossible to perform in HT. My suggestion is as follows. Make two sub-lines - the first one should be between defensive and midfield line and the other one between midfield and offensive line. Read on…

alot of money

With talk of the possibility of increased sponsor money, namely by a large computer manufacturing company, I thought it would be interesting if clubs could be sponsored by individual companies. These could be fictional or real life companies, but as your team improves your sponsor would be better. A starter team could perhaps be sponsored by Joe’s Hot Dog Shack, and then as they move up the ranks they could be sponsored by larger companies, finally earning that sweet Nike deal. Read on…

football tactics

We can consider 3 main lines in a footbal team: defense, midfield, and attack. And in real life the 3 lines have influence in each other. If one of them is very bad, the other two can’t make its job. I suggest to make the worst line of play to cause a limit for the other 2. For example, if the average stats of defense (including left, center and right) is passable then not midfield nor average of attack (including left, center and right) could be better than solid (for example) even if they have outstandigs players in those positions. big stadium crowd

My suggestion is that how full the arena is effects the amount of home advantage that you get during the match. If the areana is 100% full, you get the full amount of home advantage, if it is 50% full you only get half the extra home advantage. Also the size of the arena would effect the amount of home advantage that you can get, though this would have be quite small, say an additional 1% home advantage for every 10,000 seats. Read on…

searching the transfer market

TC is a pretty useful tool that helps to stabilize the market and helps new players avoid big mistakes (which often lead to abandoning the team and HT, too). The only thing it needs is to match useful secondary skills. So, when TC is invoked, it should check recent transfers for players that are equal in the highest primary skill, equal in “important” secondary skills and equal or worse in other skills. Read on…
